Corpex and phoenix contact canada

At CORPEX, we’re continuously evaluating new ways to make our machine vision and automation solutions easier to support, more secure, and more resilient in demanding production environments.

Recently, we hosted Garrett and Jeff from Phoenix Contact Canada for a deep‑dive session on industrial cyber security and secure remote access architectures.

Why Secure Remote Access Matters

Our systems often run on mission‑critical lines where downtime and rework are extremely costly. To support our customers properly, we need remote connectivity that is:

  • Industrial‑grade, not just “IT‑style” office networking
  • Secure by design, with controlled access paths into OT networks
  • Structured, so we can support multiple plants and sites in a consistent way

In the past, we’ve had to work around limitations of non‑industrial routers and customer‑specific hardware that don’t always give us the robustness, visibility, or security posture we want for long‑term support.

This is why we’re looking at more standardized, industrial solutions for remote access.

Our Session with Phoenix Contact Canada

During the visit, Garrett and Jeff walked us through Phoenix Contact’s approach to:

  • Machine‑to‑machine (M2M) networking in industrial environments
  • Server‑certified private VPN tunnels for secure remote access
  • Network and security architectures tailored to machine builders and production facilities

We discussed how these concepts can be applied to:

  • Provide secure, authenticated remote support for our machine vision installations
  • Create a repeatable remote‑access blueprint instead of ad‑hoc solutions per site
  • Improve the way we handle commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing service for customers around the world

“We had a great session with our friends at Phoenix Contact Canada discussing cyber security and secure remote access, and how we can apply these concepts to support our customers more effectively.”

What This Means for Our Customers

From the customer’s perspective, this work is aimed at:

  • Higher uptime
  • Reduced risk
  • Simpler rollouts

We are currently evaluating Phoenix Contact’s technology in our facility as one of the building blocks for future secure remote‑support offerings. Our goal is to combine robust connectivity with our machine vision expertise to deliver reliable, supportable systems over the long term.

Thank You to Phoenix Contact Canada

We’d like to thank Garrett and Jeff from Phoenix Contact Canada for sharing their experience and insights on industrial cyber security and remote access. We look forward to continuing the discussion as we refine our secure connectivity strategy.
