Strategic Leadership Partner

Strategic Leadership Partner
Joyce’s twenty-year career record is characterized by complete dedication to her profession, a never-ending proclivity for personal growth, and rock-solid integrity that inevitably translates into business outcomes that are equally robust.
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Joyce’s parents were instrumental in her education and career choices as they encouraged her to stay in the sciences. Her father, an engineer on Canada’s oil rigs, inspired his daughter to attain her degree in engineering.
Armed with her new-found designation of BSc Engineering from TUNS along with a keen interest in the food industry, Joyce migrated to Ontario where she spent the formative years of her career with Canada Packers, Unilever, and Neilson Dairy. It wasn’t long before her knowledge of production, packaging, shipping, food safety, quality control, safety and people became areas where she was acknowledged as an integral contributor within operational management.
Early in her career, Joyce was responsible for installing multi-million dollar manufacturing lines, improving efficiencies in the order of 20% while maintaining operating budges of up to $20 million. She also led the commissioning of the first shelf stable sterile milk bottling line in Canada. Fast-forward to Kraft Foods where she led the organization’s continuous improvement engineering team to achieve company growth strategies while providing sanitation and risk reduction leadership for a facility with eight continuous ovens and 17 pack lines. During the past decade, Joyce continued to advance from Plant Manager for Arla Foods and Cott Beverages to Vice President of Operations for Chudleigh’s Limited. It was over this time frame that Joyce expanded and refined her leadership abilities to include full supply chain, risk mitigation and culture effectiveness.
The trajectory of her career and the impressive achievements she has accrued as a leader dovetails perfectly with her current endeavor. As Strategic Leadership Partner of Corpex, Joyce’s mandate for her business means that she collaborates with C-suite leaders in the manufacturing sector for the optimization of their processes, business systems, and human capital. She brings a wealth of knowledge to the table to ensure that her clients’ operations align with current best practices and their desired strategic outcomes.
When not working with her clients, Joyce can be found spending time with her husband and business partner, Peter. The couple enjoy travel, dining out, adventure, and fitness. They also take pleasure in their six grown children who are carving out their own path as new professionals.
